Kentucky Equality Federation Soulforce Equality Ride Community Reception.

Kentucky Equality Federation hosted a reception for the 2007 Equality Ride that will visit the University of the Cumberlands on March 28, 2007. The reception was a big success (and fun) with Nancy Bowling-Couch, Secretary of the Federation preparing the food (our caterer canceled at the last minute).

William Jefferson Clinton at Louisville Jefferson Jackson Dinner

President Bill Clinton addressed a sold out crowd of around 2,500 on Oct. 24 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville. Chairman Jerry Lundergan called it a "very, very good night for the Kentucky Democratic Party." The President endorsed Kentucky Congressional candidates Mike Weaver and John Yarmuth and also spoke about the need for Democratic leadership in the state and the nation.

DWC State Convention

Annual Convention of the Democratic Woman's Club of Kentucky was held October 12-14 in Owensboro at the Executive Inn-Rivermont. Highlights of the convention included a Political Forum of prominent state senators and moderated by House Speaker Jody Richards, an election update by Party Vice-Chair Rep. Joni Jenkins and a Friday night banquet tribute to Wendell Ford, featuring Democratic leaders. Susan Turner and Diane Wood were nominated for 2007-08 DWC President. Diane Wood was elected.

Second Annual Kentucky Democratic Family Day

Democrats gathered from across the state to have fun with their families and listen to prominent Democrats, including special guest General Wesley Clark, former chief of NATO Allied Command.

2006 Young Democrats State Convention

Wendell Ford convinced Young Democrats from across Kentucky that Democrats can make gains in the Kentucky Senate and extend their control in the Kentucky House. "The future will be much brighter, and you can be a part of it," Ford told them July 29 at state headquarters. Former Governor and U.S. Senator Ford could not be denied as he spoke in the building that bears his name. Other prominent Kentucky Democrats including Crit Luallen and Jonathan Miller appeared before the group. Steve and Heather Henry hosted a reception for the YDs Friday night. Kenton County YDs won Chapter of the Year award.
