kyLGBT.org - Kentucky Equality Federation | Report Discrimination, Hate Crimes, and School Bullying

Kentucky Equality Federation will act as an advocate to protect your rights if you suffer a hate crime, school bullying, discrimination, or other anti-equality act.

Hate Crimes

Kentucky Equality Federation acts as a "buffer" between minority communities and the police; we are also campaigning for better resources to address hate crimes.

It's a sad fact but many people living with homophobic hate crime are so used to it that they fear that they will not be taken seriously if they report it. Some of us have had bad experiences in reporting incidents, others fear being outed or reprisals from their perpetrators. However, unless people do report hate crime, there will be no true record of the extent of the problem and nothing will be done to address the problem.

Report a hate crime.

School Bullying

The academic consequences of bullying are severe, not to mention the mental and physical well-being of targeted students and bystanders alike. Bullying is not a new phenomenon, of course, but neither is it an unalterable fact of childhood. School-wide anti-bullying projects, involving parents and non-teaching staff along with teachers and student leaders have been shown to reduce harassment by as much as fifty percent.

Report school bullying.

Discrimination

On average, Kentucky Equality Federation receives 11-18 discrimination reports per month. We're here for you! If you believe you have been discriminated against, please notify us.

Report discrimination.

Every day, LGBTI people are denied many of the freedoms enjoyed by other Americans. We are committed to secure full equality for the LGBTI community of the Commonwealth. Your support is critical to our success. Please fund our efforts to end discrimination in Kentucky.

"If the continued election setbacks across the nation have taught us anything, it is that nothing can replace volunteering, grassroots organizing, and the perseverance of an all - volunteer organization." - Kentucky Equality Federation President Jordan Palmer in an interview with change.org.
