Kentucky Equality Federation today agreed to allow one of the parents of the Crosby Middle School incident to be interviewed in WLKY-TV (Louisville) under the conditions that her face now be show and other security be taken to ensure her safety. (more)

Hundreds with HIV/AIDS in Kentucky left to die and need your help!
Kentucky has more than 1,500 people enrolled in its AIDS Drug Assistance Program (KADAP) for low-income HIV and AIDS patients. Today, more than 200 patients are on a waiting list to receive life saving medications.

Jackson County Hate Crime Court Date Set
The court date for Cheyenne Williams (previous press release) has been set for August 19, 2010 unless the Federal Bureau of Investigation takes over the case before then and the Assistant U.S. Attorney in London prosecutes.

Kentucky Equality Federation condemns special legislative session for not including KADAP funding.
Kentucky Equality Federation today condemned the special legislative session called by Governor Steve Beshear for not including funding to the Kentucky AIDS Drug Assistance program. Kentucky Equality Federation will work with activists around the Commonwealth to prepare a protest at the Kentucky Governor's Mansion. Lawmakers failed to act, now it is in the hands of our Governor.

Gender & Women's Studies Spring 2010 Film Series: Be Like Others
In a strict Muslim society, more and more young Iranian men are choosing to undergo sex change surgery. By following several of these non-mainstream citizens, this documentary offers audiences an alternative perspective of Iranian people and culture. Filmmaker Tanaz Eshaghian reveals that although homosexuality is forbidden in Iran, gender change operations are accepted and even supported by the government. The film will be followed by a panel discussion.
